The piece of walnut was cut exactly as I ordered it with zero sap wood. Moisture content was perfect. Price was spot on.

I initially gave this a 2-star rating because I thought I had ordered more than I actually did, so obviously that's 100% on me. That being said, I have nothing bad to say about this wood. The quality is excellent. The customer service is just as good as their product, as they promptly responded to my (unfounded) concerns. Will be a repeat customer.

Needed to order a specific piece of walnut and had to email Woodworkers Source to order. Quick reply and help.

There are a few spots in these board that will make a huge part of them useless for what I am doing due to knots and the banding used to keep them together on the pallet. So I will be losing a fair amount of lumber due to them. I know its hard to pick lumber for someone so this is kind of to be expected.

I was a little hesitant to spend $400 on lumber sight unseen but I took the chance and overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The walnut showed up within the lengths I specified and is pretty nice. Only issue I had was 1 board was mostly sapwood and all boards had quite a bit of snipe on the last 2". Other than that I'm pretty happy and will order from woodworkers source again.

I think my selection of wood was perfect. I can honestly say that if I was to sort through the stack and pick boards myself they wouldn't be as good as what was sent. It is my third time ordering through Woodworkers Source and I am completely satisfied.

I was sent a couple of very nice boards, but the pricey shipping costs today makes me less likely to buy more lumber in the future...the 25% volume discount didn't come close to covering the shipping costs to VA.

The piece of wood I received was very well packaged and delivered exactly as expected and on time. There is one flaw in the board that will reduce the overall amount of usability. There is a small circular knot about 6 inches from one end that actually is an open hole almost clear through the board. Other than that I am very pleased with the selection that was made on my behalf.

I live in a remote area, so ordering on-line is the best way for me to obtain wood. First order I got with WWS, I am very satisfied. Will continue to use this company

It was a fine hunk of wood at first glance. Then I turned it over and noticed that about 5 inches of area at one end was not fully planed flat. There was a full section there that was thinner than the entire piece otherwise. After realizing that this was not going to affect my project and I started getting in to cutting down the pieces I needed, I also noticed that the same end had apparently been placed in a planar on both sides as it had a clear dip on the top and bottom while the rest of the surfaces were planed nice and flat. It was still a beautiful piece of wood but it was just not as exact as I would have hoped for.

The Black Walnut lumber provided by the Woodworkers Source exceeded all of my expectations. Had I had known the lumber would be as attractive as it is, I would have designed my mantle differently.
