Splinters and Chips
The wood is beautiful when finished. However, it is prone to splintering and chipping. Sanding the edges of a project is very challenging. Cutting round-overs on a router table is where I have had the most problems with sever chip out.
Familiarity: I've used it in several projects

Beautiful Red Grandis
Wood was absolutely beautiful and the sizes I ordered were just right. The only issue i had was the box was pretty torn up by the time i got it. I know this is mot woodworkers fault, they took great care of all my orders.

I think I've found my go-to wood
I normally order online, but was in Tucson and stopped in the store to see the exotics on sale. I fell in love with Sapele, but with my budget and beginner skill set I couldn't justify buying enough of it to make an entire large piece of furniture. Then across the aisle I saw the Red Grandis, and I remembered seeing someone who was making very nice furniture with this wood, stained to look like antique Mahogany. It's very consistent in color and grain pattern, with just enough visual interest to not take away from say, a figured door panel or drawer fronts. And it's about half the cost of Mahogany, Sapele, Walnut, etc. Regarding the board I just bought online, I requested 12 bd/ft of 4/4 and they took a 12 ft long, 12" wide, perfectly clear and cut it into 3 48" pieces. Couldn't have asked for anything better. I got more serious about woodworking at the start of Covid, and have bought something from WWS almost every month for the past year. I've never received anything less than great from them, and even though their prices are higher than my few local places I don't really have the urge to go elsewhere. Customer service and quality products are more important to me than a little bit of savings, especially in the long run. You get what you pay for!

Great Eucalytus 4 quarter boards
Excellent quality, beautiful boards. Cut to my requested length dimension. Was sent equal width boards, even though I was expecting varied width. Much better quality and board sizes than I was expecting. These will be a pleasure to work with. Packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition.

Great Grandis
As usual, the wood was beautiful and cut exactly as we had requested. We are always so pleased with the quality of the material you provide and how precisely you comply with our specific requests. The Red Grandis was used to make seat and back boards for an antique park bench. The contrast between the wood and the old cast iron frame made for a magnificent bench. Thank you for offering wood we often can not find locally. We also appreciate your preparing the wood per our requests and the fast shipping.

Best Mahogany alternative yet!!!
I have used Red Grandis for exterior millwork and some doors, and it is very stable, very easy to work with, and the color consistency is equal to non. Great product!!
