great wood no cracks

The wood is great quality, and was cut great. I used the purple heartwood turning blocks to make legs for a foot stool to match my cigar chair. Great customer service, too. And the shipping was fast. My new favorite place to buy wood. Thank you!

Clear straight, no issues

Excellent for cutting boards

This is a great product. I was considering making legs for my table from 3/4" flat pieces by mitering two pieces to create 2x2 L Shape legs. - but I am glad I ordered these pre-cut 1-3/4 square instead. They are much stronger and easier to work with. I am really enjoying working with Purple heart. It is a very hard wood. But it's easy to work with. It cuts very cleanly, although I amy have to get a new blade after I am done with this project, as the wood burns / smokes when it is cut and leaves a black mark on both the wood and the saw. I was surprised how easy to use screws to fasten the pieces together, after drilling a pilot hole of course. I can hardly wait to finish my custom side table and share the picture.

Have not worked with purpleheart before, and I am just a beginning turner, but these squares were clean and true and very easy to work with. Sharp tools do make a difference with these squares. Made a couple dagger handles so far and the wood has turned and finished very easily.

The two pieces I received were straight and true and were exactly as described. Only minor issue I have is the color, I know how the color of purple heart can change, it was just that one side of each square was completely Brown .

Arrived on time with no problem. The vendor delivered as promised!
