Madrone // Arbutus manziesii
Very attractive, hard, heavy and strong wood that resembles hard maple, but with a more pinkish color. Madrone is tight grained, making it a superb furniture wood that finishes very well. Also easy on the tools and cutters, and an all around joy to work with.
Color Range
Creamy tan to light pink, sometimes with a dark purplish brown band from the heart of the log.

What's the Tree Like?
A beautiful broadleaf flowering evergreen with a reddish brown trunk that grows up to 80 feet. It grows only in parts of Canada and the Pacific coast of the U.S.Madrone grows in North America
