Reviews for Black Limba Furniture Squares: 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 30"

received 2- 30" turning squares as I ordered. I have never used this wood before so didn't know anything about black Limba, except that it was supposed to be hardwood. one was very nice and seemed about the consistency of the purple heart I received. The other piece is much lighter in weight and rather porous. I don't know if this is normal for this wood but the appearance is quite different from the first piece, so I wouldn't use them both in the same project. although I think they are both beautiful grain just not the same and couldn't use together.

I bought this wood to build a night stand. I asked Woodworkers Source to select pieces with a lot of black streaking and they did just that for me. The wood is just beautiful. It cut easily and smoothly for me. It took stain nicely (I used a conditioner to fill the pores first) and I ended up with a very nice night stand.

I asked that the pieces be as close to matching as possible- that is just what I recieved, Having never worked w/ Black Limba for legs, this will be a first for this 35 years of custom woodworking "Woodsmith"- I;m very pleased w/ the matching- THANKS WWS
