We call it a contest, but it’s really a celebration of the craft of woodworking.
For this show, we asked you to build a small table or stand, and you didn’t disappoint. 71 projects came in, and we were blown away by the creativity and craftsmanship that went into each one.
Thank you for participating. We know it’s not easy to share your work with strangers to judge, compare and vote for the best projects. After all, the nature of handcrafted woodwork isn’t a competitive one, it’s an artistic one. That means each piece has its own je ne sais quoi that speaks to each person’s tastes and preferences a little bit differently.
Is it fair to wrap it around a competition?
That’s why we like to put more focus on you, and give you a chance to share your work and learn a little more about woodworking by checking out some other projects.
So if you managed to complete a project and enter it, you’re a champion. You added a beautiful piece of handmade art to the world, and there aren’t too many people that can say they’ve done that.
What a cool event. The desert night was filled so many of our woodworking friends and The Sonoran Dogs bluegrass band was a perfect soundtrack for the evening. We hope you enjoyed the food, drinks and music.
We’re already working on the next contest and show. If you would like to keep up on announcements please join the Woodworkers Source mailing list. You’ll even get a $10 off coupon for your next purchase of $50 or more.
Thank you again for supporting woodworking with us. We appreciate all that you do.
